The Solution

A Safe Space

We offer a safe forum for students to come in three days a week for the entire school year, with the hope that they continue and are renewed.

Population Reference Bureau, analysis of U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey microdata files (Aug. 2022).

Expected Results

In a school year, we aim to boost students' core abilities by at least one full grade level in each subject for 18% of the cost that taxpayers pay per student in SAUSD.

We identify students' weaknesses through Tutoring Club's thorough assessment/diagnostic, then work to build their skillset and bridge the gap between their current and grade-level knowledge. The program aims to provide individualized help for 18% of the cost per student in SAUSD ($2,880 compared to $16,400), with goals of boosting students' core abilities by at least one grade level per school year.
